from what he told me , he thinks it is a cpu problem. It is getting unusually hot.  auto restes the pc.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's my cpu overheating.
It restarted my system a few times and locked it up once last night.
It was idling at 65c.
I reseated the HS/F and reapplied new thermal paste but that didn't help at all.
I backed the overclocking down to stock and it took 9 or 10 c off of it but that's still too hot for idling let alone under load.

Specs:
Asus P5N-E SLI nForce 650i
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.4Ghz (now)
4 x 1GB DDR2 Mushkin PC2-6400
EVGA GeForce GTX 260
And I don't remember what my power supply is...I got it from Money.

What is the cooler you are using on the CPU? If you are overheating, than you may only need a better one.

Yeah it is stock.
I figured I needed to get a better one as well.
Any suggestions?

I am still having an issue with my Cable modem though and I have no idea on how to fix it and its really starting to piss me off.
After about an hour or so of gaming it stops responding and wrecks Explorer and I have to do a hard reboot.
I think its problems are stemming from having to use the USB connection rather than Cat-5.
I would much rather be using Ethernet but I can't get it to work properly.
I think there is some sort of problem with the motherboard or the actual port itself, rather than the modem or cable.

There are a few updates on Asus site and I'm still running the drivers from the install disk.
So I'm going to update my chip-set and see if that does anything.
I was also going to flash my BIOS but I've never done it before so I'm kind of nervous.

I was thinking about getting this HS/F and a cheap NIC.
If that NIC wont fix my modem problem than I don't know what will.

Okay so I think I fixed my ethernet problems.

It was my chipset drivers.
I suspected that may be problem before but when I uninstalled and reinstalled them it didn't help.
But I just tried again and this time it worked.
I didn't do anything different so I have no idea why it worked all of the sudden. Huh
But I'm not gonna complain.
